Early Educator Health and Wellness: Building Resilience for Early Education Workforce, Children, and Families Grant
In partnership with the Municipality of Anchorage (MOA), Anchorage Health Department (AHD), thread is now accepting applications for the Early Educator Health and Wellness: Building Resilience for Early Education Workforce, Children, and Families Grant.
This grant provides early childhood educators working in licensed programs in the MOA with wellness training, telehealth, tele counseling, teletherapy services, and assistance navigating HealthCare Exchange. Please join thread in illuminating the impact early childhood educator’s health and wellness has on building resilience for early educators, young children, and families.
IMPROVE and INNOVATE Grant Programs
thread, in partnership with State of Alaska Child Care Program Office (CCPO), offered two competitive child care grants to support programs and communities investing in child care. Grant opportunity closed on April 14, 2023.
The grants were made possible through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA), with the State of Alaska’s Child Care Program Office as the lead agency and thread as the intermediary for grant distribution.
This grant was also made possible by funds from Preschool Development Grant – Birth through Five (PDG B-5) grant number 90TP0103. Its contents are solely the responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily represent the official view of the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families.
2023-24 Quality Initiatives
thread offers an annual Quality Initiative (QI) program for early childhood education programs and early educators to participate in professional development around a specific early care and learning topic. QI grants range from $1,000-$10,000.

Child Care Assistance in Northern Interior and Southeast Alaska
thread partners with Thrivalaska in Fairbanks and AEYC-SEA in Juneau to administer the State of Alaska Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) for the CCAP Northern and Southeast service delivery areas. Your program may be eligible to participate in CCAP to receive subsidy payments from the State of Alaska on behalf of an eligible family in Northern Interior or Southeast Alaska.
