This is the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)’s Week of the Young Child, and today is Artsy Thursday!
The process of creating art stimulates all areas of development for young children – social and emotional development, language, mathematics, spacial reasoning, physical dexterity, and so much more! That’s why thread decided to make art the focus of its 30th anniversary celebration, and thus the Art By Children (ABC) Project was born.
thread partnered with the Alaska State Council on the Arts to select Alaskan artists, who then visited local early care and learning programs. Artists collaborated with the children to create 30 pieces of art, which will be displayed on April 30, 2016 at thread’s Follow Your Dreams Art Showcase and Auction.
