Each year, voters have a critical opportunity to elect candidates to public office at all levels of government. Those elected will make public policy decisions that will directly impact child care — and Alaska’s families.
According to 2020 US Census data, 1 in 4 eligible Americans are not registered to vote. Every year, many find themselves unable to vote because they miss the registration deadline, don’t update their registration, or aren’t sure how to register.
Sept. 28 is National Voter Registration Day, an opportunity to celebrate democracy and encourage new voters to register for the first time. For existing voters, it’s also a great reminder to update your information.
Since 2012, nearly 4.5 million voters have registered to vote on National Voter Registration Day to date. If you’re not registered to vote, now’s the time!

Alaska residents can register to vote by clicking here, or by submitting an application to register in person at one of these locations. A voter registration card will be mailed to you.
