Power to the Profession: Read the Final Decision Cycle 7+8

February 24, 2020

What skills and competencies help early childhood educators thrive in their field?

What do they need to know to do the work they love?

Power to the Profession is a national initiative committed to
creating a framework for those working in early childhood education by diving into areas such as:

  • Compensation
  • High-quality standards
  • Career pathways

The Power to the Profession Task Force, made up of 15 national organizations, including the National Association for the Education of Young Children, regularly
engages with early childhood professionals to gain consensus on how to best advance the profession.

The theory behind Power to the Profession is this: Early childhood educators and stakeholders must agree on some clear elements that advance the profession.
To facilitate this collaboration, the task force has developed eight decision cycles where information is presented to the field for
a response.

Thanks to your feedback last year, the final draft recommendations from the Power to the Profession Task Force, Decision Cycles 7+8 are now available!
