Job Description
As a Preschool and Pre-K Teacher at Anchorage Gymnastics Association, you will play a crucial role in providing a nurturing and engaging learning environment for our young learners. You will be responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, fostering social and emotional development, and creating a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere. Responsibilities:
Curriculum Planning:
- Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that addresses the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical needs of preschool and pre-k children.
- Plan and organize daily activities, including arts and crafts, circle time, music, and outdoor play.
Classroom Management:
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation and engagement.
- Implement effective behavior management strategies to promote a positive and respectful atmosphere.
Individualized Learning:
- Recognize and cater to the individual learning needs of each child.
- Provide additional support or challenges as needed, ensuring that all children have the opportunity to thrive.
Parent Communication:
- Maintain open and regular communication with parents regarding their child's progress, activities, and any concerns.
Safety and Well-being:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the classroom.
- Implement health and safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Professional Development:
- Stay current with developments in early childhood education and participate in professional development opportunities.
Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive and supportive preschool community.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings and professional development sessions.
