Job Description

As a Preschool and Pre-K Teacher at Anchorage Gymnastics Association, you will play a crucial role in providing a nurturing and engaging learning environment for our young learners. You will be responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, fostering social and emotional development, and creating a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to create a supportive and stimulating learning environment.

Responsibilities:

Curriculum Planning:

  • Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that addresses the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical needs of preschool and pre-k children.
  • Plan and organize daily activities, including arts and crafts, circle time, music, and outdoor play.

Classroom Management:

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation and engagement.
  • Implement effective behavior management strategies to promote a positive and respectful atmosphere.

Individualized Learning:

  • Recognize and cater to the individual learning needs of each child.
  • Provide additional support or challenges as needed, ensuring that all children have the opportunity to thrive.

Parent Communication:

  • Maintain open and regular communication with parents regarding their child's progress, activities, and any concerns.

Safety and Well-being:

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the classroom.
  • Implement health and safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Professional Development:

  • Stay current with developments in early childhood education and participate in professional development opportunities.

Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive and supportive preschool community.
  • Attend and actively participate in team meetings and professional development sessions.
