Monday, Oct. 19: Early & Absentee Voting Begins

Early and Absentee In-Person voting, and Special Needs voting begins on Monday, Oct. 19.

Saturday, Oct. 24: Absentee Ballot Deadlines

*Deadline to Apply for an Absentee Ballot

  • Complete an online absentee ballot application here.
  • Request an absentee ballot here.
    • Ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day, November 3.
    • Ballots sent within the U.S. must be received by the Division of Elections by November 13. 
    • Ballots sent outside the U.S. must be received by November 18. 
    • The Division of Elections encourages voters to send their voted ballot back As Soon As Possible. The sooner you send your ballot back, the more confident you can be that it will arrive on time.
  • Check here to see if the Division of Elections has received your absentee ballot request.

Tuesday, Nov. 3: General Election

*Anyone outside of Anchorage should take extra care to mail their ballots early. Absentee voting requires a witness signature and a First Class stamp ($0.55 or “Forever” stamp). Return your ballot as soon as possible. The U.S. Postal Service recommends you request your absentee ballot no later than Oct. 20 and that you mail your ballot no later than Oct. 27.
