March is National Nutrition Month

March 2, 2021

March is National Nutrition Month, and with summer right around the corner, it’s a great time for families to get a healthy new start!

Sponsored by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, National Nutrition Month is a reminder that constructing healthy eating habits and taking on more physical activity can help fight obesity, especially in young children still growing.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to nutrition and health. Everyone is unique with different bodies, goals, backgrounds and tastes. That’s why this year’s National Nutrition Month theme is Personalize Your Plate with tips and tools to help tailor your family’s healthful eating plan.

Help celebrate National Nutrition Month at home or in the classroom with these resources:

Early childhood educators can also sign-up for Eating Smart, Being Active, a free six-part virtual training series on nutrition, hosted by thread and the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Click here for more information.
