In response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, thread pivots to deliver its services virtually to support families, early educators, and early childhood education programs. thread provides rapid relief to child care programs and early educators impacted by the pandemic.

The Children’s Place, a child care program operated by thread in partnership with the State of Alaska, closes after 20 years of serving families at the Gambell Public Assistance Office in Anchorage.

During COVID-19, thread advocates for dedicated financial support for child care, resulting in $18.5 million in local funding, and awards $1.5 million to programs.
