Child Care Connection (thread) in Anchorage moves to the Success by 6 Building in the Mountain View Community.

The new site offers Child Care Connection (thread) greater accessibility to family child care providers in the area and additional opportunities to partner with sister agencies that will also be housed in the facility. Features include a larger training room, additional lending library resources, and adequate parking for families and providers using our services.

  • The Children’s Place is Born!
  • A vision of community collaboration and quality service delivery took shape when the doors of the Children’s Place first open to the Gambell Job Center. Through strategic planning and coordination with the Municipality of Anchorage Child Care Licensing, the center became approved to provide short-term, drop-in child care for families using job center services. This milestone in thread’s history was supported through generous funding by the State of Alaska Department of Health and Social Services Division of Public Assistance.
  • Child Care Connection (thread) updates its Quality Guide for families searching for child care.
  • Child Care Connection (thread) receives Certificate of Appreciation from the State of Alaska.
  • In recognition of dedication and commitment to Alaska’s neediest families and to acknowledge Child Care Connection (thread)’s valuable contribution to the success of welfare reform in Alaska.
  • The Rotary Project: Family child care providers in the greater Mountain View area can look forward to the services of a mobile resource unit that will deliver toys and materials directly to home providers! In addition to the door-to-door services, two family child care program associates will offer training and technical assistance in safe, healthy learning practices, and coordinate a benchmark incentive program that rewards individual providers seeking a state family child care license.
