Who’s Eligible?

This opportunity is open to educators who:

  • Are currently employed or volunteering at a licensed child care program in Alaska
  • Are active/current in the Alaska SEED Registry at Levels 1–5
  • Have earned a high school diploma or GED
  • Have not previously earned a CDA credential

A stable internet connection is required, as most coursework and verification visits will be completed online.

What Support Will You Receive?

As a participant in this CDA Training Series, you will receive:

  • Free, 1-year membership to ProSolutions Training, including a package of CDA courses
  • Financial support for the CDA application fee ($525)
  • $1,500 incentive for completing all sessions and achieving your CDA certification
  • Guidance on uploading transcripts and certificates to your Alaska SEED Registry account

Participants must complete all training sessions and successfully achieve their CDA credential to receive the incentive.

CDA Requirements

The CDA credential is administered by the Council for Professional Recognition, which ensures high-quality standards for early educators. To qualify, participants must complete:

  • Education: 120 hours of formal early childhood education across eight subject areas (no fewer than 10 hours in each)
  • Experience: 480 hours of professional work in a center-based setting with children (within 3 years of applying)
  • Documentation: A professional portfolio prepared within 6 months of applying

Once these steps are complete, candidates will submit their portfolio, pay the application fee, and complete a verification visit and exam.

Training Series Schedule

Participants must attend two required meetings and are encouraged to join optional check-ins:

  • Oct 9, 2025 (6–8 pm): Informational Meeting (optional)
  • Oct 23, 2025 (6–8 pm): Kick-Off (required)
  • Jan 8, 2026 (6–8 pm): Check-In (optional)
  • Feb 5, 2026 (6–8 pm): Check-In (optional)
  • Mar 5, 2026 (6–8 pm): Final Meeting (required)

In addition to these virtual meetings, participants will complete their CDA courses online asynchronously through ProSolutions Training.
