thread, in partnership with the Anchorage School District (ASD), presents a FREE three-part series that will introduce parents and families to the skills, tools, structures and language of Conscious Discipline.

The Conscious Discipline framework provides families with tools and skills needed to calmly respond when big emotions are expressed. These techniques help families communicate in a more intentional way. 

Session One: What is at the Heart of Conscious Discipline?

Wednesday, Nov. 18

Discover Conscious Discipline, why you and your child’s “brain state” matters, and how everyday situations can turn into learning opportunities.

Session Two: Powers, and Structures of Conscious Discipline

6 to 7 pm
Wednesday, Nov. 25

Get started on using the skills and structures of Conscious Discipline. Discover the Seven Skills and Powers that help create a shift in the way adults see conflict and consciously respond to difficult situations.

Session Three: Let’s Practice Using Conscious Discipline — Make and Take

6 to 7 pm
Wednesday, Dec. 2

Practice using Conscious Discipline through fun games and learn about make and take opportunities. Find out how to use Conscious Discipline throughout the day and how to transform discipline into a positive experience.

Each session will be facilitated by Kimmer Ball from the Anchorage School District and thread.

This series will be offered via Zoom. Participants will need to have an email address and access to a computer, internet, and a phone. Registration closes at 5 pm the day before training.
