Governor Dunleavy announces a Child Care Task Force to propose recommendations for sustainable policy and funding solutions addressing the child care crisis. The task force recommendation is part of thread’s 2023 legislative agenda.
The task force consists of voting members including Stephanie Berglund (thread CEO and non-profit official supporting licensed child care), Robert Barr (thread board member and local government official), Kati Capozzi (statewide business community representative), Kim Hays (organized labor representative), Jennifer Patronas (faith-based or community-based (in-home) care representative), Jennifer Taylor (licensed child care program representative), Birdie Taylor (tribal child care program representative), Heather Weafer (military child care program representative), and Matthew Bitinas (parent navigating the system).
This work results in new data and 56 policy recommendations to support the critical needs of the child care sector.
