Bob Juettner is hired as Executive Director in February 1986. He hires Lani Groman Brennan as Program Director the following month, and using a computer donated by ARCO, the agency opens its doors for business in May of 1986.
Child Care Connection (thread) opens its doors in Anchorage in the Department of Health & Human Services building.
Child Care Connection (thread) develops the “Make Caring Your Business” brochure.
On February 2, 1986, the Board of Directors meets in a work session to define the corporation’s programs and services. The following programs are considered:
Referral, Resource Library, Education & Training for Child Care Providers, Public Education for Parents, Advocacy, Technical Assistance to Employers, Research.
By the end of the year, Child Care Connection completes 211 referrals.
On June 10, 1986, a press conference is held at ARCO Alaska announcing the official opening of Child Care Connection (thread).
