  • Members of the Alaska SEED Steering Committee are a diverse cross-sector of early childhood stakeholders who guide the mission of Alaska SEED.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • House and manage Alaska SEED as fiscal sponsor
  • Act as lead implementation arm including providing required training, technical assistance, coaching, assessments and verifications, financial supports, alignment and infrastructure of Alaska SEED
  • Maintain Alaska SEED’s website, resources, and outreach materials
  • Work in partnership with regulatory bodies
  • Serve as a liaison to funders for Alaska SEED

Alaska SEED Career Ladder Subcommittee

Membership includes:

  • Reviews the Alaska SEED Career Ladder on a biennial basis and updates as needed.
  • Reviews, develops, and implements credentials.
  • Ensures credentialed early childhood and school-age educators reflect the diversity of the children and families served.

Registry & Workforce Data Subcommittee

Membership includes:

  • Aligns the Alaska SEED Registry with national standards using the National Workforce Registry Alliance’s Peer Eligibility Review as the standard of excellence for the Alaska SEED Registry’s best practice standards, core data elements, and partner requirements.
  • Assists with SEED Career Ladder level appeals as outlined in the SEED Policies and Procedures Manual on an as-needed basis.
  • Utilizes workforce data to establish connections with information sources related to professional development, professional development system trends, research, and policy.
  • Synthesizes available information, trends, research, and policy around issues critical to professional development and professional development systems.

Core Knowledge and Competencies (CKC) Subcommittee

  • Developed the CKC. Assists with public presentations on CKC. Promotes and seeks endorsements.

Governance Subcommittee
