Core Competencies
Alaska’s Early Care and Education Core Knowledge and Competencies (CKC) are designed to provide information about what you need to know, understand, and demonstrate to best facilitate children’s learning and development.
The Alaska CKC were updated in October 2020 to align with the latest edition of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Professional Standards and Competencies for Early Childhood Educators. The Alaska CKC booklet also includes an addendum on the Alaska Early Childhood Administrator Credential and Administrator Core Knowledge and Competencies.
