2023 thread Awards Recipients Announced

After receiving a record-breaking number of award nominations this year, thread is excited to present the following recipients of the 2023 thread Awards, announced at a virtual ceremony on Friday, May 12, Provider Appreciation Day.

The Quality Improvement Program of the Year Award

The Quality Improvement Program of the Year Award recognizes a family home child care program and a child care center participating in Learn & Grow (Alaska’s Quality Recognition and Improvement System). Recipients of this award are licensed child care programs that are demonstrating a strong commitment to continuous quality improvement and have made exceptional progress in the past year.

Congratulations to Coast-to-Coast Kidcare who was recognized as the 2023 Quality Improvement Program of the Year for Family Home Child Care.

Congratulations Petersburg Children’s Center for being recognized as the 2023 Quality Improvement Program of the Year for a Child Care Center.

The Cindy Harrington Heart & Mind Award

The Cindy Harrington Heart & Mind Award recognizes an individual currently employed in early childhood education who exhibits strength of character, commitment to excellence, professional determination, and an impassioned spirit.

Congratulations to Juliet Bitanga, owner of Juliet’s Daycare who was awarded the 2023 Cindy Harrington Heart & Mind Award.
