Broadcast to Child Care Assistance Program Participating Families and Child Care Providers I

November 6, 2020

From the Child Care Program Office

Topic: Child Care Assistance Program – School Aged Children

The Child Care Program Office (CCPO) has identified Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) savings as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and decreases in child care attendance. As a return, the CCPO would like to provide additional support to families with school-aged children. School-aged children authorized at a part-month enrollment, who attend child care at a full month due to the inability to return to the regular classroom setting, or due to additional school closures as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, will be eligible for an increase to the level of care as needed.

The CCPO is pleased to announce for the service month of October 2020 child care providers who participated in the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) will receive payment at the full month rate for school aged children with a part-month authorization, who attended child care at the level of a full month because of classroom closures due to Covid-19. This payment will occur if the provider requests payment for a full month for a school-aged child on their Child Care Assistance Request for Payment CC78 form. This increased payment for the increase in the level of care will be paid in the month of November, based on children’s attendance in October 2020.

Child care providers will not be required to submit their actual attendance records at this time.  Remember that Child Care Assistance Request for Payment CC78 forms and Child Care Grant Attendance Report CC14 forms submitted by child care providers must always match each other as well as match their own attendance records.
