Shirley Pittz

Shirley Pittz is a private consultant focused on family and early childhood issues. She served as the Early Childhood Comprehensive Systems Program Officer and lead for the Strengthening Families Program with the State of Alaska from 2005-2015. She holds a Master of Science degree in Counseling from Creighton University and is a UCLA Johnson & Johnson Fellow and a University of Massachusetts Boston Napa Parent-Infant Mental Health Postgraduate Fellow. Ms. Pittz enjoys traveling, reading, quilting, cooking, hiking, and biking. She serves on thread’s Board because of her commitment to improving the lives of young children. She believes in the critical importance of thread’s work and appreciates the high quality of services it provides to the community.
