It’s election season in Alaska! It’s important to get out and vote, and we encourage you to vote with the needs of young children in mind.
If children were able to vote, what issues do you think they would care about?
- Fair wages for early childhood professionals?
- Financial assistance for families struggling with early care and education costs?
- Healthy and safe early care and education programs for all children?
- Investing in/supporting children and families?
But children are not able to vote. That’s why we need you to vote for them. Follow these steps to get started:
Register to Vote
Did you know that you have to be registered to vote at least 30 days prior to an election in order to vote in that election?
Deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 6 general election has now passed!
Click hereto register to vote in the next election, or to update your registration online. It’s fast
and easy! All you need is your current Alaska driver’s license or State ID. There are also other ways to register to vote. Not sure if you’re registered? Check here.

We encourage you to attend candidate forums, read candidate surveys, and ask questions about issues affecting young children. You can find more information

you would rather vote by mail, you can request a ballot by mail and send it in
at least 10 days before Election Day. Anyone can request a ballot by mail – you don’t need a reason. Learn more about voting here.
