thread, with support from The Alaska Community Foundation and the State of Alaska Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS), is pleased to offer a statewide opportunity for Alaska’s early childhood education programs and educators. thread's COVID-19 Quality Initiative 2 and the COVID-19 Alaska SEED ROOTS (Retaining Our Outstanding Teachers) Award assist those programs and educators working tirelessly to support Alaska’s children and families during the COVID-19 pandemic. thread is honored by the opportunity to help stabilize and strengthen early childhood education in Alaska.
Recognizing the essential role Alaska’s early childhood and afterschool/school-age education programs have in keeping children healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic, thread is providing the COVID-19 Quality Initiative 2. The COVID-19 Quality Initiative 2 provides financial support in the range of $1,000-5,000 to eligible programs. Deadline to apply is Oct. 31, 2020.

Alaska’s early childhood and school-age educators, who have been on the frontlines since the start of the pandemic, are also in need of financial assistance, which is why Alaska SEED is offering the COVID-19 Alaska SEED ROOTS Award. Individual early childhood, or school-age, educators meeting the eligibility requirements can receive $500 per person. Deadline to apply is June 30, 2021.
