{"id":5526,"date":"2021-04-16T17:47:41","date_gmt":"2021-04-17T01:47:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.threadalaska.org\/seed\/blog\/2021-thread-awards-recipients-announced"},"modified":"2021-04-16T17:47:41","modified_gmt":"2021-04-17T01:47:41","slug":"2021-thread-awards-recipients-announced","status":"publish","type":"seed-blog","link":"https:\/\/www.threadalaska.org\/seed\/blog\/2021-thread-awards-recipients-announced","title":{"rendered":"2021 thread Awards Recipients Announced"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>thread<\/strong> is pleased to present the following recipients of the 2021 <strong>thread<\/strong> Awards, announced at a virtual ceremony held on Facebook Live in Thursday, April 15, 2021:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.threadalaska.org\/thread\/early-educators\/recognition-awards\/qi-program-award\">Quality Improvement Program of the Year Award<\/a><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Irma\u2019s Child Care<\/strong> in Anchorage<\/li><li><strong>Discovery Preschool<\/strong> in Juneau<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.threadalaska.org\/thread\/early-educators\/recognition-awards\/cindy-harrington-award\">Cindy Harrington Heart &amp; Mind Award<\/a><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Lupita Alvarez<\/strong> (Montessori Borealis Children&#8217;s House in Juneau)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Quality Improvement Program of the Year Award<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Through this award, <strong>thread<\/strong> is recognizing both <strong>Irma\u2019s Child Care<\/strong> and <strong>Discovery Preschool<\/strong> for their commitment to continuous quality improvement through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.threadalaska.org\/learn-and-grow-home\">Learn &amp; Grow, Alaska\u2019s Quality Improvement and Recognition System<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After Administrator Irma Coronado completed an Environment Rating Scale assessment, a <strong>thread<\/strong> Professional Development Specialist worked with <strong>Irma\u2019s Child Care<\/strong>, pre-COVID, to organize, categorize and rearrange her family home learning environment. As a result, this program has moved from Learn &amp; Grow Level 1 to Level 2 in the past year improving the quality of her program in a pandemic!&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.threadalaska.org\/thread\/early-educators\/recognition-awards\/qi-program-award\">Learn more<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Administrator Rosemary Williams took over as the owner\/administrator of <strong>Discovery Preschool <\/strong>in December 2019, just months before the pandemic outbreak. As a Learn &amp; Grow Level 2 program, Williams knows the importance of supporting her staff \u2013 at all times &#8212; in order to provide continuity of care to the children in her program. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.threadalaska.org\/thread\/early-educators\/recognition-awards\/qi-program-award\">Learn more<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cindy Harrington Heart &amp; Mind Award<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lupita Alvarez<\/strong> of Montessori Borealis Children\u2019s House in Juneau is the seventh recipient of the annual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.threadalaska.org\/thread\/early-educators\/recognition-awards\/cindy-harrington-award\">Cindy Harrington Heart &amp; Mind Award<\/a>.
