These content areas have been identified by a statewide advisory panel of early childhood professionals as foundational to any program administrator in order to help provide a quality early childhood education program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color\" style=\"color:#5394b6\">Benefits of Earning the AK-ECAC<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Advance your career<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Meet job requirements<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reinforce your commitment to early childhood education<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide parents with peace of mind.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Understand developmentally appropriate practice<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Increase your confidence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To see a list of Alaska SEED approved trainings and options which fulfill the AK-ECAC requirements,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.threadalaska.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/AK-ECAC-Training-Requirements-2.10.26.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">click here<\/a><em>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color\" style=\"color:#5394b6\">Am I Eligible to Earn an AK-ECAC?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To be eligible to apply for an AK-ECAC, you must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Must be an Alaska SEED Level 6 if working in a licensed family child care or group home.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must be an Alaska SEED Level 7 if working in a licensed center based program.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gather any training certificates and\/or transcripts you have and upload them to them to your Alaska SEED profile (for university transcripts, include course descriptions\/syllabi).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>*Arrange a time to talk with a Learn &amp; Grow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.threadalaska.org\/learn-and-grow\/contact-learn-grow\">Professional Development Specialist<\/a> to review transcripts and determine what AK-ECAC trainings you have completed.*<em>For applicants working in programs NOT participating in Learn &amp; Grow, contact <a href=\"https:\/\/www.threadalaska.org\/seed\/about-seed\/contact-us\">Nancy Roman<\/a>, Alaska SEED&#8217;S Statewide Systems Coordinator<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>*Work with your program\u2019s <strong>thread<\/strong> Professional Development Specialist (PDS) who will help review your transcripts and determine what AK-ECAC content areas you have completed.<em> *For applicants working in a program participating in Learn &amp; Grow<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The AK-ECAC is a stand alone credential. It is also a requirement with Learn &amp; Grow, Alaska\u2019s Quality Recognition and Improvement System (QRIS).
